"Many plans are in a man's heart, But the counsel of the Lord will stand." (Proverbs 19:21)
Today this particular verse has really spoken to me because it is so darn true! Honestly, how many thousands of plans do you make in your life; where you want your career to go, that house on the corner you want, picking out colleges, your dating life... whatever that next big step in your life might be you have definitely worked and reworked plans of how you want it to go. How many times have you had that one plan that you just pushed and pushed for, but it just wouldn't work out? Then a day, a week, a month, a year, may go by and you start following a new plan and it goes smooth as butter! I believe that is God at work. Sometimes, there are things we think we really really want that God doesn't think we need, but because of His gift of free choice we are able to choose to get that thing, even if it goes against His will. When our plans go against His plans I believe they are much harder to achieve and follow through with, in God's hope that the door will close for us, so he can open the one he had chosen for us to begin with. I am not saying that you don't have to work hard if something is in God's will to happen, and I am also not saying that God wants our plans to fail. All I am saying is that when you are on God's path you can feel a difference...at least I can.
Since J accepted the position in TX it feels like we are coasting on the path that the Lord set out for us. Everything from finding housing, earning the new job, and getting all those other affairs in order have just been a breeze. Some days I feel like I am just walking on air because everything is going so great! I am feeling so happy and blessed with our life, I just had to stop for a moment and give it to God.
