Hey y'all! Today I am sharing the details to my surprise bridal shower. My MOH and Future MIL threw me a surprise shower last week and it was too cute not to share! They did such an amazing job and I am so lucky to have them in my life :) The theme of the shower was Western/Rustic, and I will be sharing with you decorations, games, food, and drinks. Here we go!
To let everyone know where the party was, they marked the driveway with a cute whitewashed pallet sign placed inside of a galvanized bucket surrounded by flowers. Once you pulled up to the house there was a trail of balloons marking the path up to the front door. The front door had a rusted barbed wire wreath with a burlap bow, a picnic basket full of party favors (shown later), and a picture of me & J riding horses. As you can see decorations included sunflowers, boots, paisley, burlap, rope, jars, and galvanized metal. All of the essentials for a successful Ho-down. |
This was the interaction table. They draped a cow rug over the top of a table. They took a pallet and laced it with rope and hung pictures of J and I at different ages with clothespins. Age Guessing Game: Guests had to guess our ages in each picture and whoever got the most right won a prize. Memory Game: Everyone wrote down a memory they've made with me. Later my MOH read them off to me and I had to guess who wrote what memory. Whoever stumped me won a prize. Date jar where everyone wrote date ideas for us on popsicle sticks. Advice for the Bride-To-Be: Cute labeled notecards where guests gave their best advice on love and marriage to me. Recipes: Along with the invitation, guests were sent a recipe card to give to me at the party. The girls were able to pick one of their favorite meals or desserts to pass on to me and my future family. |
My Future MIL found a cute denim pocket banner that she put pictures in. They used glass drink dispensers for Sweet Tea, Lemonade, Red Sangria, and White Sangria. We also had bottled water, I didn't get a picture of them but my MOH had labels made. They were gingham and Paisley and there were 4 different variations; "Future Raney Y'all, Miss to Mrs, Alex's Bridal Shower" and I cannot remember the 4th for the life of me. Food: We had pulled pork, Mac & Cheese, "Rootin' Tootin" baked beans, brie, rolls, salad, green beans, and cowboy caviar. For dessert we had apple pie, key lime pie, and of course the beautiful cake pictured which was a yellow cake with sour cream icing and chocolate ganache. |
No detail was spared, everything tied together perfectly; From the kitchen, to the dining room, to the living room. As shown below they had a banner behind where I opened presents that said "Soon To Be Mrs Raney" and there was another one in the kitchen that said "Miss to Mrs". There was also an adorable chalkboard sign that had the lyrics to Blake Shelton's Honeybee. Finally, the favors! Cute mason jars filled with trail mix, and tied on with jute little cowboy boot bottle openers. My MOH put paisley stickers on top of all the mason jars to give that extra special touch. Everyone who came texted me to tell me how beautiful everything was. I agree 100%. I had a wonderful time and I hope this gets your creative juices flowing if you are trying to plan a western/rustic themed party. Happy Trails!
