Alleluia Christ is risen! He is risen indeed, alleluia! Tomorrow morning we will all wake up excited to see what the Easter bunny brought us, but what we really need to wake up excited about is the celebration that Christ has risen! It is so easy to forget the true meanings of holidays, I know because I am guilty of it. So tonight, to remind myself why I was really celebrating, I started looking up Easter Bible verses and Isaiah 53:5 really jumped out at me. "But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed."
Jesus Christ was put on the cross for OUR sins. He was punished and killed...sacrificed so that we could be forgiven. You know what that is? That is love! So for anyone who hasn't been feeling the love take this as a chance to see that there is someone who loves you sooooo stinkin' much that they would take the blame for every wrong thing you've ever done in your life and they would die for you! And not just an instant death, a long suffering terrible one, just so that you could be forgiven and accepted into heaven. All that he asks in return is that you accept him in to your heart and you don't deny your belief in him. Amazing. I hope everyone has a blessed Sunday!
